What did I do in 2019

2019 has come to an end. Let's take a look back at what I did in 2019.

Open Source#

2019-4

Although the projects I maintained continued to grow healthily, I didn't create anything new.

RSSHub

The project has become relatively stable. I merged pull requests and fixed small bugs on a daily basis.

Some plain and boring data:

The number of stars reached 10k+.

2019-1

The monthly request volume of the public service rsshub.app reached 100 million+.

2019-2

RSSHub Radar

The only new project in 2019, making it easier to subscribe to RSS feeds.

I wrote an introduction article on Shaoshupai and it was selected by Matrix: https://sspai.com/post/56079

Some plain and boring data:

Chrome Web Store has 7000+ weekly users.

2019-3

In 2020, I plan to invest more time in open source projects. Instead of just maintaining existing projects, I will create something new, such as DPlayer refactoring, Telegram Bot platform, RSS client, etc.

A big thank you to the open source sponsors in 2019: rixCloud, 期待, 荔枝数码, 快知, WeRss, 面包多, Liuyang, Sayori Studio, 琚致远, Rolly RSS Reader, Zuyang, Eternal Proxy, and other 10 Patreon sponsors and 100+ one-time sponsors. Currently, the monthly open source sponsorship income accounts for 5%-10% of my total income, which helps me dedicate more time to open source projects and brings me closer to my dream of being a full-time open source author.

Footprints#

Long-distance

Japan

I fulfilled the biggest wish mentioned in the 2018 year-end summary and went to Japan to see cherry blossoms 🌸. I had a 9-day self-guided tour and visited Osaka, Nara, Kyoto, and Tokyo.

In 2020, I plan to go to Murmansk, Russia to see the Northern Lights 🌌.

Short-distance

BILIBILI WORLD
ChinaJoy
Luotianyi x Lang Lang Concert
RSSHub Meetup
Disney Halloween

I met with Hua Ji, FHYunCai, Wan Shui, Free, Henry, and others.

Skills#

🤸‍♀️ HIPHOP Dance: I took 7 group classes and 7 private lessons intermittently. It was a tiring but interesting skill. I might continue learning it.

📊 Bookkeeping: I started keeping track of my expenses in August and have developed the habit. It helps me understand where my money goes each month.

🎨 Drawing: I occasionally have the urge to draw, but I haven't taken action yet. In 2020, I plan to pick up this skill again and aim to draw one picture per month.

Health#

2019-5

I did some exercise at the beginning of the year but didn't stick with it. However, I recently got addicted to Ring Fit Adventure, and my hope for a fitness plan has been rekindled.

I gained weight in 2019. In 2020, I hope to lose 10 pounds with the help of Ring Fit Adventure.

Relationships#

image

My childhood friend is busy with work at the hospital, but she comes to play on her days off. Now, my days off are no longer boring. We plan to move in together after the Chinese New Year and may even get engaged.

Yogurt has become more clingy, like a dog. But as a result, I've been gaining weight. I plan to put her on a diet.

Gaming#

2019-6

I played a lot of games in 2019, which brought me a lot of joy.

PS4:

Horizon Zero Dawn: The best, Twitter1 Twitter2
Monster Hunter: World & Iceborne: The best, I also recorded some gameplay videos, but not many people watched them, Twitter
Detroit: Become Human
The Last of Us
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Astro Bot Rescue Mission
Unravel Two

Switch:

Ring Fit Adventure: The best
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020
Pokémon Sword
Tetris 99
Octopath Traveler

However, playing games alone can be lonely, so I created a QQ group (947956902) for playing games together. Feel free to join.

Movies and TV Shows#

2019-7

TV Shows:

There were many high-quality TV shows in 2019, making it difficult to choose the best. Here are four equally good ones:

"Go F**k World": The best
"Chang'an Twelve Hours": The best, Twitter
"Love, Death & Robots": The best
"Billions": The best
"Game of Thrones": Terrible ending, Twitter
"I Will Never Let You Go"
"Chernobyl"
"The Naked Director"
"Rabbit Republic"
"Joseon Survival"
"Sex Education"
"The Strain"

Anime:

I don't know if my taste has changed or if the industry has gone downhill, but there were very few anime in 2019 that I could watch till the end.

"Demon Slayer": The best, the undisputed anime of 2019, highly recommended. If you haven't watched it, do it now.
"Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai"
"Island of Promises"
"Dororo"
"Beastars"
"Ueno-san wa Bukiyou"
"How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?"

Some movies:

There were too many movies, so I'll just mention a few that left a deep impression.

"Ne Zha": The best, it made me cry Twitter
"The Sound of Noise": Second only to Ne Zha
"Half a Comedy"
"The Pianist"
"Youth"
"Alita: Battle Angel"
"Crazy Alien"
"The Wandering Earth"
"Blade Runner"
"Sausage Party"

Reading#

I tried reading for a month but couldn't develop the habit. In 2020, I'll just go with the flow.

"Design Books for Everyone"
"The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up"
"The Three-Body Problem"
"A Pig Like You"

Lastly#

I had an amazingly smooth year in my zodiac year. I also achieved the goal I set last year, which was to make myself more fulfilled and interesting. I hope to continue this in 2020 and also achieve the small goals mentioned above. Well then.

2019-9
