Obsidian based life record system

July 9, 2022 · Sharing

As I mentioned in [end 2020 summation], I’ve been writing bullet notes with Notion, and now it’s a billion different points, and now we’re going to re-examine my current life record system.

Original Notion Bullet Note

Benefiting from Obsidian ’ s strong automation capacity and high freedom, daily/week/month/year notes are automatically generated through preset templates, are interconnected and few parts need to be manually processed

All files have been uploaded to GitHub: https://github.com/DIYgod/DIYgod-Obsidian-Starter, including themes, plugins, configuration files, customized styles, templates, sample files, etc., as an example, so please modify them according to your actual situation

At first glance, these things are complicated, but they’re very simple and very liberal and scalable.

Structure

The structure of the directory is shown in the left column of the diary chart

♪ Protected ♪

A journal file for the same day will be automatically generated in this week’s folder <<PROTECTED_BLONK_9> per day, a new weekly folder <<<PROTECTED_BLONK_10> and a weekly journal <<PROTECTED_BLONK_11> per week will be created automatically, a monthly monthly journal <<<PROTECTED_BLONK_12> and a new annual folder <<PROTECTED_BLONK_13> per year will be automatically created > and an annual note < <PROTECTED_BLONK_14> (Correction: Not automatic, still command panels need to be activated)

The content of these documents is also preset by the template and has been automatically filled with dates, logR fractions and graphs for the current cycle, even the same day’s location, weather, month’s equivalent, and has been set to record the day’s status and dynamics.

There’s a logR file, updated about six months a year, that records the life goals of the six months, some of which require a sustained effort every day.

The directory structure is achieved mainly through [Periodic Notes] (https://github.com/liamcain/obsidian-periodic-notes) and the template is achieved primarily through [Templater] (https://github.com/SilentVoid13/Templater) and [Dataview] (https://github.com/blacksmithgu/obsidian-dataview) and core plugins

OKR Tracke tracks the status of the OKR completion at the current stage of the day, such as < <PROTECTED_BLONK_15>, which represents 10.3 hours of sleep today, <<PROTECTED_BLONK_16>, <PROTECTED_BLONK_17>, which represents healthy food today, < <PROTECTED_BLONK_17>, which is the Dataview syntax, adding to the current page

There is a special list below O1 KR2, where the API displays the day Togl Track data, which is a time-recording application to record the time I spend every day in a variety of services, such as time spent reading, brushing B station time, working time, etc., which also shows whether my productivity today is in line with expectations.

Notes

This is where the real diary is written, most of it is a stream of books to make up for my natural bad memory, and sometimes I write ideas.

The yearbooks are also very similar to the weekly calendars, but many new useful conclusions can be drawn by expanding the timescale.

The same sleep and exercise statistics, for example, show that at the scale of the year, I started to lose my sleep at the end of May, during which time the exercise was interrupted, and was eased from mid-June.

There’s also a new map of body weight and lipid, which shows a steady decline in my body weight and body lipid and a marked improvement in my health.

The yearbook also shows a new hot map of the day when the target is reached, drawn by [Heatmap Calendar] (https://github.com/Richardsl/heatmap-calendar-obsidian) using sleep as an example.

Limits

The bullet notes have an important task list module, which I would have written in advance for a week, as shown in the bullet transcript, but now that the diary is automatically generated on the same day and cannot be planned in advance, I have changed the task list to a tick list, which certainly works well, but it’s not so good to lose the connection to the diary and to add it manually, which causes a lot of duplication.

Last but not least, even if there is such a system of life management, it doesn’t mean that life will be as expected, like the one mentioned above, at the end of May, when sleep is out of control, and once it is out of control, notes will tell me how to get back on track and catch up.
